Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Visit the Sign Up page, enter your email and create a password. You'll receive a verification email to activate your account. Once verified, you can complete your profile and start exploring.
Is Vestigia free to use?
Yes! Vestigia is completely free for personal use. We offer all core features including trip planning, memories, map exploration, and social features at no cost.
What devices can I use Vestigia on?
Vestigia works on any device with a modern web browser. It's fully responsive and works great on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Trips & Itineraries
How do I create a new trip?
Go to the Trips page and click "New Trip". Enter your trip name, destination, dates, and optional description. You can then add events to build your itinerary.
Can I share trips with friends?
Yes! You can invite friends to view or collaborate on your trips. Click the share button on any trip and enter your friend's username to invite them.
How do I add events to my itinerary?
Open your trip and go to the Itinerary page. Click "Add Event" to create events with times, locations, and details. You can also add events from your saved places.
Map & Places
How do I search for places on the map?
Use the search bar at the top of the map page. You can search by place name, city, or country. Click any result to center the map on that location.
What are POIs?
POIs (Points of Interest) are curated landmarks, attractions, and notable places in our database. They're marked on the map with colored icons by category.
Can I save my own custom places?
Yes! You can save any location as a custom place. Right-click on the map or use the "Add Place" button to create custom markers for your favorite spots.
Memories & Photos
How does location detection work for photos?
When you upload photos, Vestigia reads the EXIF metadata embedded by your camera or phone. If GPS coordinates are present, the location is automatically detected.
What photo formats are supported?
We support JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats. For best results with location detection, use JPEG photos from a camera with GPS enabled.
Can I manually set a photo's location?
Yes! If your photo doesn't have location data or the detected location is incorrect, you can manually set or adjust it by clicking on the map in the upload modal.
Friends & Social
How do I find and add friends?
Go to the Friends page and use the Search tab. Search for users by username or display name, then click "Add Friend" to send a request.
Who can see my profile and trips?
You control your privacy settings. By default, your profile is visible to friends. You can change visibility to public or private in Settings > Privacy.
How do I remove a friend?
Go to your Friends list, find the friend you want to remove, and click the remove button. They won't be notified of the removal.
Account & Settings
How do I change my password?
Go to Settings > Account and click "Change Password". You'll need to enter your current password and then your new password twice to confirm.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings > Account and scroll to the Danger Zone. Click "Delete Account" and confirm. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
How do I export my data?
You can request a data export from Settings > Account. We'll prepare a download with all your trips, memories, and profile data in JSON format.
